The g-Pet Plus is a glucosemeter specifically designed to measure blood sugar in dogs, cats and horses.

Why use an animal-specific meter? Because the size of red blood cells and the distribution of glucose in the blood varies from species to species and therefore a human meter is less accurate. Some of the glucose is contained in the red blood cells and the rest in the surrounding plasma. Humans not only have a higher haematocrit value than animals but also larger red blood cells. So in humans, the red blood cells can carry more glucose and there will be less in the plasma.

This test is also gentle on the animal as only a very small amount of blood is required. The g-Pet Plus gives accurate results in mmol/l or mg/dl, which you can set yourself. The test strips are calibrated so that they can be used for all three species.

The device has a large LCD display and is very easy and comfortable to use.
