CONGO - Economic and commercial mission Congo

vrijdag 25 maart 2022

Finally, after a two-year delay, the Belgian economic and commercial mission to the Democratic Republic of Congo took place from 19 to 25 March 2022.

The mission, organized by FIT and its Walloon and Brussels colleagues, was scheduled almost immediately after President Felix Tshisekedi's visit to our country in 2019. Unfortunately, Covid-19 thwarted the plans.
Our Area Manager Mrs Véronique Aben took part in the mission led on-site by Laurence Heyblom, Economic and Commercial Counsellor, and was pleasantly surprised by the many insights and acquaintance with interesting interlocutors and potential customers/partners that she met during the B2B's and the many network activities organized.

“There is a lot of space for growth and that is what we will be working on in the coming years” Véronique emphasizes. “After all, just before Corona, we entered into a brand-new partnership with TBN Agrofield, who opened its first shop in Kinshasa. Unfortunately, our re-launch was disturbed a bit, because events couldn’t take place ever since”. During this mission, Véronique took the opportunity to visit some poultry farms in the municipality of Montgafula. Together with TBN we also organized a round table with some key accounts and sub-distributors of TBN to better understand the local needs and concerns and to respond even better to this in the future.

“There is indeed still a lot of work to be done,” says Véronique, “and the sector has a long way to go, but it is worth it when you see the potential this rough diamond has to offer. I believe that missions like this play an important role in accelerating such development.”As for TBN and Inovet: « We go for it 100 %! »
